CHATTER FROM THE MUSE

barbershop harmony

I just came in from a great evening of barbershop music.  We went to an evening of cabaret at our local Legion Hall given by Cincinnati Delta Kings Chorus.  In addition to the chorus there were a number of barbershop quartets.  They were all great but one was really outstanding.  I was impressed when they first came out by their age.  They are all around 18.  I am always thrilled when I see young people
picking up the torch of great entertainment.

The Darlington Brothers not only have that special spark of great harmony and a perfect blend of voices, two of them did a terrific recreation of the Abbot and Costello routine " Who's on First".  In some ways it was even funnier that the original.

You can find them on facebook and if you ever have an opportunity to hear them you will definitely be pleased.  I hope they are able to sign together for many years.  They have so much to offer.
