Some of you may have noticed, I have been trying to use social networking to make more people aware of my books and to learn from other writers. Everything I read says this is necessary and rewarding , but I really have a problem. I can't avoid it and I can't deny it. I am digitally challenged! I keep my copy of FAcebook& Twitter for Senior - for Dummies in an easy to reach spot on my desk but I still have problems.
I watch little ones who can barely talk whizing through the games on an Ipad or Mama's phone and have to admire their talent. I am jealous of their skill but wonder what will challenge them when they too are 78.
Every generation has challenges and frustrations with changes and advances. I remember showing my Mother who was in her 80s how to use the automatic faucets in the restuarant rest room. She waved her hands under the faucet and laughed so loud I am sure everyone in the restaurant could hear her. She said "I remember when we didn't even have water in the house!", and laughed even louder.
I guess challenges mean the world is progressing and progress is good.
