Walls that talk!

3/9/2013

Debbi and I marketed our books in an unusual environment today.  We had a signing in a coffee house in the university area.  It is an extremely  eclectic place where you could spend hours just exploring.  There are delightful surprises waiting to be discovered in every corner.  I was intrigued with the oragami boxes and stars dangling on strings hanging from the ceiling.  One area of the side wall was decorated with coffee mugs of every size and shape.  I am sure each cup has a history.  The writer in me wondered what it might be.  I may have to return to sit a while to see if those walls have a story to share with me.

It was a great place for one of my favorite pastimes - people watching!  They came in all shapes and sizes.  There were preppy dressed doctors and professors and shaggy haired students with baseball caps turned backwords.  They came for more than sandwiches and lattes. (which were delicious)  There were laptops and tablets everywhere.  It was the perfect place to read a great book or write a term paper or just enjoy the company of people.

Marketing is such fun, making new friends and discovering wonderful new places to go.
